Procedure
1. Place the vehicle on a level, horizontal surface.
2. Start the engine and warm up the power steering fluid to a temperature of 50-60°C by turning the steering wheel from lock to lock several times.
3. With the engine idling, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times.
4. Check that there is no foaming in the power steering reservoir.
5. Turn off the engine and check the difference in fluid levels in the reservoir with the engine running and off.
- 1. If the difference in fluid levels is more than 5 mm, bleed air from the power steering drive.
- 2. If the fluid level suddenly rises after the engine is turned off, no further bleeding of the power steering hydraulic drive is required.
- 3. Incomplete bleeding of the hydraulic power steering drive leads to noise emitted by the pump and reduces the service life of the pump.
