Checking the working fluid level (Hyundai Sonata Y3)

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface.

2. Before using the level indicator, wipe off any dirt from the area around it.

3. With the gear shift lever in position "P" and the parking brake engaged, start the engine.

4. The engine should idle. The fluid should have a normal operating temperature (70-80°C).

5. Move the gearshift lever sequentially through all positions to fill the torque converter and hydraulic system with fluid, then return the lever to the neutral position N. This must be done to ensure that the fluid level is determined correctly.

6. Make sure the fluid level is in the "HOT" section of the dipstick. If it is lower, add automatic transmission fluid until the level reaches the "HOT" section.
