Make sure the manual control cable is adjusted correctly by doing the following:
1. Apply the parking and service brakes.
2. Set the gear shift lever to the "R" position.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "ST" "start" position.
4. Slowly move the gearshift lever up until it clicks into the slot in the "P" position. If the starter operates when you lock the lever, put "P" in the correct position.
5. Then slowly move the gearshift lever to the "N" position in the same way as you did in the previous operation. If
when the lever is locked in the "N" position, the starter operates, the "N" position is correct.
6. The manual control cable is adjusted correctly if the starter operates when the lever is in the "P" and "N" positions.
