2. Before removing the oil dipstick, wipe off any dirt from the area around it.
3. With the gearshift lever in position "P" and the parking brake engaged, start the engine.
4. The engine should be idling. The fluid should be at normal operating temperature (80-90°C).
5. Move the gearshift lever sequentially through all positions to fill the torque converter and hydraulic system with fluid, then return the lever to the neutral position N. This must be done to ensure that the fluid level is determined correctly.

6. Make sure the fluid level is at the "HOT" section of the dipstick. If the fluid level is lower, add automatic transmission fluid until the level reaches the "HOT" section.
At the same time as checking the fluid level, it is necessary to check its condition. If the fluid has a burning smell and is contaminated with metal particles or friction material particles, a complete check of the gearbox is necessary.
