- excessive emission of harmful substances with exhaust gases;
- excessive release of soot;
- mechanical overload as a result of excessive torque or limiting crankshaft speed;
- thermal overload due to overheating of the coolant, engine oil or turbocharger.
The maximum amount of air entering the engine is formed from a large number of input variables, such as the mass of incoming air, engine speed and coolant temperature.
