Removal and installation the injector (Hyundai Elantra XD)

  • The fuel system operates at high pressures (1350 bar).
  • Do not perform any work on the fuel system while the engine is running or within 30 seconds after it has stopped.
  • Always take safety precautions.
  • Ensure absolute cleanliness when working.
  • Never remove the injectors.


Removal



1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the injector.

3. Disconnect the high pressure line from the pressure accumulator and injector.

4. Press the clamp and move it backwards to disconnect the fuel return line.

5. Attach the fuel return line connection. Never install it without a clamp.

6. Remove the copper sealing ring.

Installation



1. Before installing the injector, clean the mating surface of the cylinder head and the sealing surface.

2. Insert the brush.

3. Clean the sealing surface.

4. Install a new copper sealing ring. A small amount of grease can be used to hold the ring on the injector.

5. Install the nozzle, being careful not to touch the tip of the sprayer, and the sliding clamp with the clamp bolt.

6. Screw in the clamp bolt. Tightening torque: 27±2 Nm.

7. Install the high pressure pipeline. Tightening torque: 18–23 Nm.

8. When installing the high-pressure pipeline, use a key to secure the hexagonal element of the pipeline to prevent it from twisting.

9. Attach the fuel return line connection. Never install it without a clamp.

10. Pull back to check that the fuel return line is securely fastened.



11. Connect the electrical connector to the injector.

12. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.

13. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.

14. Check and clear stored fuel injector fault codes.
