Causes of injector failure (Mitsubishi Matrix)

0
1. Possible causes of difficulty starting a hot engine may be insufficient fuel pressure and fuel leaks through the injectors.

2. If the injectors do not work when the engine is cranked with the starter, check for the following faults:
  • malfunction of the ECU power supply circuit or ground connection circuit;
  • engine management system main relay malfunction;
  • crankshaft position sensor or camshaft position sensor malfunction.

3. If the engine idle speed does not change when the injectors are turned off one at a time, check the following on the corresponding cylinder:
  • injectors and their wires;
  • spark plugs and high voltage wires;
  • compression in the cylinder.

4. If the injection system is in good condition, but the injection duration is not within the norm, check for the following faults:
  • whether the mixture burns completely (are the spark plugs and ignition coil in good condition, is the compression in the engine cylinders normal, etc.).

5. The malfunction indicator lamp lights up or the HI-SCAN device displays a malfunction code in the following cases:
  • the injector itself is faulty.
