Remove the servo pump V-belt (if equipped).
Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise to loosen the water pump belt pulley while pressing the belt slightly with your hand.

After unscrewing and loosening the mounting bolts (arrows), remove the generator drive belt.

Remove the A/C compressor V-belt and A/C compressor belt pulley bracket (if equipped).
Remove the support (1) located on the left.

Remove the upper timing belt cover (1).

Remove the caps from all spark plugs and remove the spark plugs with a spark plug wrench.
Turn the crankshaft clockwise, checking the condition of the timing belt.

In this case, the gearbox must be in neutral position and the parking brake must be applied. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise using the head on the central bolt.
Turn the engine until the piston of the first cylinder reaches top dead center (TDC).
In this position, the marks on the V-belt pulley should match.

Also, the hole in the camshaft gear should be opposite the indicator mark located on the cylinder head.
A - hole,
B - pointer.
To allow the tension roller (A) to move, loosen the bolt (1).

Turn the crankshaft clockwise so that the camshaft gear turns 2 teeth.
Using the tool, rotate the tension roller to ensure belt tension and tighten the mounting bolt.
Check the belt tension again. To do this, press on the belt with your finger at approximately the middle of the belt tensioner. The belt should sag by approximately 5-7 mm.

Insert spark plugs, put on spark plug caps.
Install the upper timing belt cover.
Install the A/C compressor belt pulley bracket and install the water pump belt pulley.
