Cylinder head mounting elements for 2.0 liter engine
1 - cylinder block;
2 - cylinder head gasket;
3 - cylinder head;
4 - mounting bolts;
5 - gasket;
6 - cylinder head cover.
Removal
Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
Disconnect the upper radiator hose and drain the coolant.
Remove the brake booster hose.
Remove the air hoses that prevent the cylinder head from being removed.
Disconnect all spark plug boots and spark plug wires from the engine cover.
Remove the top cover of the engine cylinder block.
Remove the heat shield (3) and unscrew the oxygen sensor (2).
Remove the exhaust manifold (1) together with the muffler.

Remove the intake manifold.
Having removed the V-belt drive pulleys (water pump, power steering), remove the engine timing belt cover.
Remove the timing belt (see previous chapter).
Remove the cylinder head cover.
Loosen the cylinder head mounting bolts in the reverse order to that shown in the figure.
Caution: Loosen the cylinder head mounting bolts in several stages.
Check that all wires and hoses leading to the cylinder head are disconnected.
Lift the cylinder head and place it on two wooden blocks.
Remove the gasket.
