
1. Remove the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid.
2. Disconnect and remove the air filter.
3. Release the fastening clamps and disconnect the return and supply hoses.

Note: To prevent dust and foreign objects from entering, plug the disconnected transmission hoses and fittings in the block with the axle.
4. Remove the control cable.
5. Remove the speedometer flexible shaft.
6. Disconnect the connectors of the pulse generators, transmission switch, downshift servo switch, solenoid valve and oil temperature sensor.
7. Unscrew the bolts located at the top of the transmission unit that secure it to the engine.

8. Remove the gearbox mounting bracket.
9. Supporting the lower part of the gearbox with a jack, unscrew the bolts securing the central crossmember.
10. Remove the conical housing cover.
11. Remove the three special bolts connecting the torque converter and the drive disk.
Note: To remove the special torque converter bolts, turn the engine crankshaft with a socket wrench to set one of the bolts to a position convenient for removing. After removing one bolt as described above, turn the crankshaft and remove all the remaining bolts one by one.
Place the transmission shift lever in the "N" (Neutral) position.
12. After unscrewing the special bolts, install the central crossmember in place.
13. Remove the lower arm ball joint.
14. Supporting the gearbox with a jack, remove the remaining bolts connecting the gearbox to the engine.
