Disassembly
1. Loosen the screws (1) and remove the brake disc (2) from the hub (3).
2. Remove retaining ring (4).
3. Install the special puller as shown. Remove the hub from the steering knuckle by tightening the nut (5) puller.
4. Using a plastic hammer, remove the brake disc guard.
5. Using a special puller, remove the bearing (6) from the hub (7).
6. Using a suitable drift and a press, remove the bearing outer race (8) from a fist (9).
Assembly
7. Apply a thin coat of grease to the hub bearing seat in the steering knuckle.
8. Using a suitable mandrel, press a new bearing outer race into the steering knuckle.
Note: hub bearings are replaced as a set - on the right and left wheels at the same time.
9. Using a plastic hammer, install the mudguard.
10. Press the hub into a fist. Pressing force: 20-25 kN.
11. Tighten the hub nut using the special tool. Tightening torque: 200-260 Nm.
12. Measure the moment of resistance of the bearing of a nave to rotation. Rated value: 1.3 Nm.
13. If there is no resistance to rotation, measure the axial run of the hub.
Nominal value: 0.008 mm.
If the measured value of the axial run is greater than the nominal (at nut tightening torque 200-260 Nm), then this means that the hub and fist are assembled incorrectly or the installed bearing is unsuitable for use.
14. Remove the dial indicator.
15. Install the brake disc.
