Withdrawal
1. Raise your Hyundai Getz and remove the front wheel.
2. Remove cotter pin and turn out a nut of fastening of a power shaft.
3. Remove the caliper and secure it to the A-pillar with soft wire.
4. Remove the speed sensor from the steering knuckle.
5. Remove the cotter pin and unscrew the nut securing the ball joint pin of the tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Using a puller 09568-34000, press the ball joint trunnion out of the steering knuckle.
2. Remove the circlip.
3. Install special tools 09517-21500, 09517-29000 as shown.
Examination
1. Check the hub for cracks and wear.
2. Check the brake disc for wear and damage.
3. Check up a rotary fist on absence of cracks.
4. Check the bearing for cracks or damage.
Assembly
1. Apply a light coat of grease to the knuckle bore and bearing outer race.
2. Using a press with reference 09532–31200A of the appropriate diameter, press in a new wheel bearing.
Note.
- Do not apply pressure to the bearing inner race.
- Always use a new bearing when installing.
- The bearing in the left and right front wheel hubs must be made by the same company.
6. Using a special tool 09517–21500, screw the hub to the steering knuckle, tightening the tool bolt to a torque of 200–260 Nm.
7. Rotate the hub several times so that the bearing elements are in place.
8. Measure the torque required to turn the bearing.
Torque: no more than 0.99 Nm
