2. Wipe off any dirt from the dipstick before using it.
3. With the gearshift lever in position "P" and the parking brake applied, start the engine.
4. The engine should idle. ATF fluid should be at operating temperature, usually 70-80°C.
5, Move the shift lever to each position to fill the ATB fluid into the torque converter and hydraulic system, and then return the lever to the neutral position "N".
6. Check visually whether the fluid level is in the "HOT" (hot) area on the gauge. If the fluid level is low, add fluid until the level reaches the "HOT" section.

Along with the fluid level, it is important to check its condition. If it smells like something burnt and is contaminated with metal particles or friction parts, a complete overhaul of the automatic transmission is required.
