Checking oil pressure (Hyundai Elantra J2)

1. Warm up the automatic transmission.

2. Raise the front of the vehicle so that the front wheels can turn.

3. Attach the tachometer to the engine and position it so that it is clearly visible.

4. Attach a special pressure gauge to measure oil pressure (09452-21500) and adapters (09452-21001 and 09452-21002) to each hole for the outlet of oil under pressure.

When measuring reverse pressure (reverse) it is necessary to use a pressure gauge of 3000 kPa.

5. Measure the oil pressure under different conditions. Make sure the measured values are within the ranges shown in the table below.

  • SW-OFF: Overdrive switch is off

  • 1- Reduced pressure
  • 2- Servo brake pressure
  • 3- Front clutch pressure
  • 4- End coupling pressure
  • 5- Low and reverse brake pressure
  • 6- Torque converter pressure
  • 7- Clutch release mechanism damper pressure
  • 8- Rear clutch pressure.
