The brake system expansion tank is located in the engine compartment. It is two-section, each section serving a separate brake circuit.
It is recommended to check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank once every 4 weeks.
When the lid is closed, the brake fluid level in the reservoir should not exceed the MAX mark. When the level drops below the mark (A), the control lamp lights up on the instrument panel.
Add only new brake fluid meeting SAE J 1703, DOT 3 or DOT 4 specification.
A decrease in the brake fluid level due to wear of the brake pads is normal, but a significant decrease in the brake fluid level in a short time is due to a fluid leak.
The leak location should be found and fixed as quickly as possible. Usually the cause of the leak is worn out wheel brake cylinder seals.
