Checking the free travel of the brake pedal (Mitsubishi Matrix)

With the engine off, press the brake pedal several times to reduce the vacuum in the brake booster.

Then slowly press the brake pedal with your hand until you feel a noticeable resistance. This way, determine the free travel of the brake pedal. It should be within the limits shown in Figure 1.175.
