Checking the steering wheel play (Mitsubishi Matrix)

To check the steering wheel play, set the front wheels parallel to the longitudinal axis of the car and turn the steering wheel slightly in both directions. Do not press the steering wheel too hard and feel the difference in resistance to steering wheel rotation; the beginning of increased resistance to steering wheel rotation – the limit of play.
