Checking the steering wheel play (Hyundai Accent X3)

1. Start the engine, set the steering wheel to the position corresponding to straight-ahead movement. Turn the steering wheel by applying a force of 5 N.

2. Measure the amount of play around the circumference of the steering wheel.

• Backlash (standard value) - 0-30 mm

3. If the amount of play exceeds the standard value, check the contacts of the steering gear shaft and tie rod ends.
