Checking the steering wheel play (Hyundai Elantra XD)

To check the steering wheel play, set it to the straight-ahead position and turn the steering wheel slightly in both directions, applying light force with your fingers to feel an increase in rotational resistance, which indicates the limit of free play. If the play is greater than normal, contact your Hyundai dealer to have the steering checked and corrected if necessary.
