Replacing fuses

In the event of an overload of electrical circuits powered directly by the battery, the fuse melts, thereby preventing damage to the entire electrical wiring. (This can happen when there is a sudden increase in current in the event of a short circuit.) If a fuse blows, contact your Hyundai dealer to determine the cause, repair the vehicle electrical system, and replace the fuse. The fuses are located in the relay box, making them easy to check.
Caution: Replace a blown fuse only with a fuse rated for the same or lower amperage. Replacing a fuse with a "bug" or a fuse with a higher amperage is prohibited, as this may cause serious damage and fire to the wires.
Replacing auxiliary equipment circuit fuses

The fuse box for the lighting and other auxiliary equipment circuits is located in the lower part of the instrument panel on the driver's side. Inside the unit there is a list of fuses and protected circuits. The failure of any lighting device or other auxiliary equipment may be caused by a blown fuse. A blown fuse is identified by a break in the metal strip inside it. If you suspect a blown fuse, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect all other electrical consumers.
2. Open the fuse box cover and check all the fuses one by one by removing them using the small fuse puller located in the box.
3. Having found a possibly blown fuse, be sure to check the other fuses.

4. Replace the blown fuse with a new one of the same current value by pressing on it. The fuse should fit tightly in the socket. If the fit is not tight, contact your Hyundai dealer to have the fuse retainer repaired or replaced. If a spare fuse is not available, a fuse of the same or lower current rating can be temporarily used by removing it from the circuit of any auxiliary equipment that can be dispensed with at the moment (for example, the fuse for the audio system or cigarette lighter). Don't forget to put the temporarily borrowed fuse back in place later.

Caution: A blown fuse indicates a fault in the circuit. If the fuse blows again after replacement when the power to the corresponding circuit is turned on, this indicates a serious malfunction that requires contacting a Hyundai dealer for investigation and repair. Never replace a blown fuse with anything other than a fuse rated for the same or lower amperage. A fuse with a high current rating may cause damage and pose a fire hazard.
