Replacing the fusible link
1 - Blown fuse
2 - Serviceable fusible link
In the event of an electrical overload (which can be caused by a short circuit and a strong increase in current), the fusible link will burn out, thereby preventing damage to the entire wiring harness. If this happens, take your car to an authorized Hyundai dealer to determine the cause, repair the system or replace the fuse. To facilitate their testing, the fusible links are located in the relay box.
Attention: When replacing a fuse link, use only a new fuse link with the same or lower current rating. Do not use a wire or fusible link with a higher current rating. This could cause serious damage and cause a fire.
Replacing fuses for electrical circuits of additional equipment
The fuse box that protects lighting circuits and other electrical equipment is located under the instrument panel opposite the driver's seat. Inside the block you will find a table of protected circuits.
If any of your vehicle's bulbs or electrical components have stopped working, a blown fuse may be the cause. If the fuse is blown, you will see that the metal strip inside the fuse has been torn off. If you think the fuse has blown, do the following:
1. Turn off the ignition and all other switches.
2. Open the fuse box and check the integrity of each fuse. Remove each fuse by pulling it towards you (to simplify this operation, there is a special puller in the fuse box).
3. Even if you find a blown fuse, check all the others.
4. Replace the blown fuse with a new one with the same current rating. The fuse must be firmly inserted. If this fails, take your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealer to have the fuse holder replaced or repaired. If you do not have a spare fuse, you can temporarily install a fuse with the same current rating by removing it from the equipment circuit, which you can temporarily do without (for example, a fuse that protects the radio or cigarette lighter circuits). Don't forget to put the removed fuse back in.
Caution: A blown fuse indicates a fault in the electrical circuit. If a recently installed fuse blows again after a short time, then you need to contact an authorized Hyundai dealer to identify the cause of the malfunction and eliminate it. Never install a fuse with a higher current rating than the specification or any substitute fuses. This could overheat the wiring and cause a fire,
