The fluid level in the power steering fluid reservoir must be checked regularly.
When performing this check, make sure the ignition switch is in the "OFF" position. The power steering fluid level in the reservoir should be between the "MAX" and "M!N" marks on the reservoir.
Note: Immediately after starting the engine at very low temperatures (below -20°C), a crunching sound may sometimes be heard coming from the power steering pump. In this case, if the crunching sound disappears as the engine warms up, it means that the booster is working normally. This is due to the peculiarity of the fluid characteristics at very low temperatures.
Recommended Power Steering Fluid
Use fluid type PSF-3.
Note: Do not start the engine when the power steering fluid reservoir is empty.
