The tension of the drive belts should be checked periodically and adjusted if necessary. Also, check the belts for cracks, wear, fraying or other signs of aging and replace if necessary.
Also make sure that the belts do not come into contact with other engine parts. After replacing the drive belt, repeat the adjustment after two or three weeks to eliminate any slack after running-in (the belt will stretch a little during this time).
Diesel engine
1 - Automatic tensioner pulley

3 - Power steering pump pulley
4 - Air conditioning compressor pulley
During periodic maintenance, inspect belts for cracks, wear, fraying or other signs of aging and replace if necessary.
