Checking the condition of drive belts (Hyundai Accent MC)

1. Check the drive belt on all sides for damage and excessive wear. If cracks, separation of rubber from the cord, wear on the side surfaces or damage to the inner surface are found, the belt must be replaced. The presence of cracks on the ribbed side of the belt is considered acceptable.

Note: If there are traces of oil or coolant, wipe the belt with a dry cloth without using solvents.

2. Check that the belt is positioned correctly in the pulley grooves. If the belt makes creaking sounds or slips when the engine is running, check the working surfaces of the pulleys and the belt tension.

3. Check the operation of the belt tensioner and replace it if necessary.
