Keep the condenser clean
Check the air conditioner condenser periodically (and the radiator of the engine cooling system), to ensure that it is not clogged with dirt, insect debris, leaves, etc. This may reduce the efficiency of air cooling. Clean with a brush or a jet of water, being careful not to bend the heat-dissipating plates.
Checking the operation of the air conditioner
1. Start the engine at fast idle and turn the air conditioner to maximum cold.
2. If uncooled air comes out of the vents on the instrument panel, have the air conditioner checked by a Hyundai dealer.
Caution: Prolonged operation of the air conditioner with a low refrigerant level may lead to failure of the air conditioner.
Lubrication
To ensure adequate lubrication of the compressor and air conditioner seals, it is necessary to run it weekly for at least 10 minutes. This is especially important during the cold season when the air conditioner is not used.
Checking the compressor drive belt tension

If you use the air conditioner regularly, the tension of the compressor drive belt should be checked at least once a month.
To check the belt tension, press it firmly with your finger in the middle of the branch between the crankshaft and compressor pulleys. The belt deflection should not be more than 8 mm. When checking with a force measuring device, the belt deflection under a pressing force of 98 N should be about 8 mm. If the belt deflection is greater than the specified value, have the belt tension adjusted by a Hyundai dealer.
