Checking the clutch fluid level (Hyundai Elantra J1)

The clutch fluid expansion tank is located in the engine compartment next to the brake booster.

It is recommended to check the fluid level in the expansion tank once every 4 weeks.

If the fluid level becomes low, add brake fluid meeting SAE J 1703, DOT 3, or DOT 4 specification.

The fluid level in the expansion tank should be between the MIN and MAX marks. If the level falls below the MIN mark, the hydraulic clutch should be inspected for leaks. Replace the relevant parts if necessary. If the system is sealed, then there is wear on the driven clutch disc.
