Disconnect the electrical cable from the fuel pump after removing the rear seat cushion.
Start the engine, and after it stalls, turn off the ignition.
Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
Connect the electrical cable to the fuel pump.
2. Remove the two eyebolts while supporting the fuel filter nuts.
Warning. Use a rag to prevent fuel spillage.
3. Using an adapter, connect a pressure gauge with a hose (09353-24000, 09353-24100, 09353-24200) to the fuel filter. Tighten the bolt to the torque given below.
- Tightening torque: Fuel pump to filter - 25-35 Nm
4. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
5. Apply battery voltage to the fuel pump connector to turn it on. Then, with pressure applied, check for fuel leaks at the pressure gauge connection.
6. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator and plug the hose. Measure fuel pressure at idle..
- Standard value - 300 kPa
7. Measure the fuel pressure when the vacuum hose is connected to the pressure regulator.
- Standard value - about 255 kPa
