Withdrawal
1. Remove the rear seat cushion.
2. After reducing the pressure in the fuel line, first start the engine, then disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector.
Note. Be sure to relieve the pressure before disconnecting the main piping, as otherwise the fuel will spill out.
3. After stopping the engine, turn off the ignition, then reconnect the electrical connector of the fuel pump.
4. After disconnecting the high pressure hose and return hose, connect the hose to the fuel pump and pump fuel out of the tank until it is half full.
5. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
6. Raise the vehicle on a lift.
7. Disconnect the filler hose and level hose.
8. Support the fuel tank with a jack.
9. Remove tapes of fastening of a fuel tank.
10. Remove the fuel tank.
Examination
1. Check hoses and lines for cracks and damage.
2. Check the condition of the fuel tank cap.
3. Check up absence of deformations, cracks and corrosion on a fuel tank.
4. Check the fuel tank inside for dirt and foreign matter.
5: Check for damage and clogging of the fuel tank internal filter.
6. Check the operation of the two-way valve.
7. To test the 2-way valve, blow lightly into the inlet and outlet ports. If air passes through the valve after a slight resistance, the valve is good.
Installation
1. Install the fuel tank by tightening the self-locking nuts.
2. Connect the level hose to the fuel tank about 40 mm in the filler neck.
3. When connecting the filler hose, the end with the short straight pipe must be located on the side of the fuel tank.
4. Connect the fuel vapor outlet hose and the return hose. When connecting a hose to a line, make sure the hose is installed as shown in the illustration.
5. To connect the high pressure hose to the fuel pump, screw on the fitting by hand and then tighten it to the torque specified in the specification. Be careful not to kink the hose.
- Tightening torque: High pressure hose fitting - 30-40 Nm
Warning. When tightening the fitting, be careful not to twist or bend the line.
6. Connect an electric socket of the fuel pump.
7. Tighten the drain plug to the correct torque.
- Tightening torque: Drain plug - 15-25 Nm
