Checking and adjusting the drive belt tension
To check the belt tension, apply pressure (approximately 100 N or 10 kgf) in the middle between the pulleys. Measure the belt deflection and adjust the tension if necessary.

Belt deflection - 9.0-10.4 mm
Valve clearance
There is no need to adjust the clearance of the intake and exhaust valves.
Replacing ignition system wires
The ignition wires should be replaced with new ones periodically. After replacement, check that the ignition wires are properly connected and positioned.
Checking the engine idle speed
Make sure the idle speed is within specification. If not, adjust it to the standard value.
Adjusting the idle speed
Lighting, settling system fan and all electrical equipment are switched off, gear lever is in neutral position.
1. Set the idle speed to high until the engine (coolant) temperature is between 80 and 90°C.
2. Set the engine speed from 2000 to 3000 rpm for more than 5 s.

3. Set the idle speed to 2 min.
4. Check the idle speed with a tachometer. If it is not within specification, adjust it with the SAS-1 adjusting screw.

Carburetor
Apply detergent to the throttle gear to remove dirt, oil and other deposits. Move the throttle in both directions to distribute the detergent evenly.
Throttle Position Control System
1. Check if the throttle position sensor plunger tracks the cam on the throttle shaft well. Check for cracks or damage to the sensor housing and plunger;
2. Use a screwdriver to check the tightness of the throttle position sensor mounting screws.
Throttle actuator
With the engine stopped, remove the air filter from the engine and perform the following check:
1) Check the operation of the throttle drive. To do this, move the throttle drive lever by hand and watch how the movement is transmitted to the cam located on the throttle shaft.

2) Check the throttle position sensor housing for cracks or damage.
