Check for oil leaks and check the oil level by removing the filler plug. If the oil is contaminated, it should be replaced with new oil.
1. With the vehicle parked on a level surface, remove the filler plug and make sure that the oil level in the crankcase is 5-9 mm below the edge of the hole.
2. Make sure that the gearbox oil is not contaminated and has sufficient viscosity.
