Checking the fluid level in the gearbox (Hyundai Sonata Y3)

1. Let the engine run until the fluid temperature reaches normal operating level (70-80°C).

2. Place the vehicle on a level surface.

3. Move the gearshift lever to each position in sequence. This will ensure that the torque converter and hydraulic system are filled with fluid, then move the lever to the "N" (neutral) position.



4. Before removing the dipstick, wipe off any dirt around it. Then remove it and check the fluid level.

5. Make sure the fluid level is at the "HOT" (hot) portion of the dipstick. If the fluid level is low, add automatic transmission fluid until the fluid level reaches the "HOT" portion.

• HYUNDAI fluid: for automatic transmissions ATF or ATF PLUS fluid type 7176 by MOPAR, DIAMOND ATF SP fluid or equivalent
