Fuel tank, lines and connections



1. Check fuel supply lines and connections for damage or leaks.

2. Check the surface of the fuel hoses for damage caused by heat and mechanical stress: Hard and brittle rubber, cracks, nicks, tears, cuts, traces of abrasion and excessive swelling indicate deterioration of the rubber properties.

? 3. Bosch woven rubber hose sheath shows signs of abrasion and cracking, hoses must be replaced.

Fuel filter



The fuel filter should be replaced regularly as its effectiveness in terms of contamination and water accumulation decreases over time. Replacement should be done as needed.

Crankcase Vent (PCV Valve)



The crankcase ventilation system must be maintained in good condition to maintain good engine performance.

Removing the PCV system requires periodic maintenance.

1. Disconnect the vent hose from the PCV valve. Then remove the PCV valve from the cap and connect it to the vent hose.

2. With the engine idling, place your finger near the open end of the PCV valve to feel for intake manifold vacuum.

Note: At this time, the plunger inside the PCV valve should move back and forth.


3. If vacuum is not felt, replace the PCV valve and clean the vacuum line with cleaner, or replace if necessary.

Fuel vapor removal system



1. If the vaporized fuel vent line is clogged or damaged, vaporized fuel suspension will be released into the atmosphere, thereby increasing the content of harmful substances in the atmosphere from the car. Disconnect the line at both ends and blow it with compressed air. Remove the filler pipe cap and check whether it is installed correctly.



2. The operation of the overflow limiter (two-way valve) installed on the evaporation line between the check valve and the fuel tank opening must be checked.

Replacing the oxygen sensor


(Except CONV.)

The oxygen sensor is a device that regulates the composition of the fuel mixture. If it is damaged, the efficiency of exhaust gas cleaning, as well as power, is reduced. Therefore, it should be replaced with a new one periodically.
