Variant coding
2WD and 4WD vehicles use the same control units (ECU). To specify a specific vehicle, the control unit (ECU) must undergo variant coding.
Variant coding is necessary in the following cases:
- Replacement of the control unit (GEBU).
- Occurrence of fault code C1702 (variant coding error).
