Variant coding
2WD and 4WD vehicles use the same control units (GEBU). To specify a specific vehicle, the control unit (GEBU) must undergo variant coding.
Variant coding is necessary in the following cases:
- Replacing the control unit (GEBU).
- Occurrence of a fault code C1702 (variant encoding error).
