After removing the flywheel from the engine, check its mating surface with the driven clutch disc. It should be free of scratches and irregularities that can lead to wear of the clutch disc and rough driving. If the surface requires sanding, it should be done in a specialized workshop.
After surface treatment, the flywheel should be balanced.
The ring gear is fitted with tension onto the flywheel rim. If some teeth are missing and the condition of the other teeth is poor, the crown should be replaced.
The crown can be removed by drilling a hole with a diameter of 6 mm to a depth of 8 mm in the crown. This hole will weaken the crown and it is enough to hit the hole with a chisel once to break the crown. After this, the crown can be removed from the flywheel.
The new crown needs to be placed in the oven (home electrical), heat to 180-230°C and hold at this temperature for 5 minutes so that the crown warms up completely.
Quickly remove the crown from the oven and place it on the flywheel using a soft metal punch (for example, copper) and carefully place it back in place.

The longitudinal runout of the crown should not exceed 0.508 mm.
Caution: If the flywheel is heavily worn or damaged, it is necessary to completely replace the flywheel together with the ring gear.
