Rotor

1. Use an ohmmeter to check the circuit between the rotor slip rings (1). If the circuit is open, replace the rotor.



2. Check the circuit between the slip rings (1) and the rotor (2) or rotor shaft (3). If the circuit is closed, replace the rotor.

Stator

3. Connect the stator winding terminals (4) in pairs and check the integrity of the circuit. If the circuit is open, replace the stator.



4. Check for a short circuit between each winding terminal and the stator housing. If there is a short circuit, replace the stator.
