Disassembly and assembly of the steering column (Hyundai Accent MC)

Disassembly

1. Use a chisel to knock out a groove on the heads of the screws (1) of the bracket (2) of the ignition switch (3) and unscrew them with a screwdriver.

Alternatively, these screws can be removed by drilling a hole in the head of the screw and driving a Torx-type socket wrench into the hole. The wrench size and drill diameter should be selected experimentally.



2. Remove the ignition switch (4) from the steering column (5).



3. Unscrew the bolt (6) and disconnect the intermediate shaft (7) from the steering column shaft (8).

Installation

4. Assembly is performed in the reverse order of disassembly.
