If it is necessary to remove the steering column lock assembly, then use a chisel to make a groove in the head of the special bolt (with a shear head) securing the lock, then use a screwdriver to remove the steering column lock bracket (Fig. 5.23).

Remove the steering column lock from the steering column and steering shaft assembly (Fig. 5.24).
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
