Align the alignment marks on the fitting, discharge tube and hose assembly, then install the discharge hose (Fig. 5.73).

Remove the engine air intake hose assembly.

Remove the power steering pressure hose retainer.

Disconnect the pressure tube from the steering gear fitting.

Raise the vehicle on a lift and remove the retainer securing the return and pressure pipes.

Lower the vehicle and loosen the bypass bolt (24 mm) of the pressure hose on the power steering pump (Fig. 5.74).

Remove the discharge hose and tube assembly (Fig. 5.75).

Installation



Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note: When installing the injection hose and tube assembly, make sure that they are not kinked or that there is no possibility of them coming into contact with other parts of the vehicle.


After installation is complete, bleed the power steering hydraulic system.
