Remove the engine air intake hose assembly (pic. 5.28).
Disconnect the clamps of the pressure and return hoses of the hydraulic system of the booster.
Drain the hydraulic fluid from the booster hydraulic system.
Disconnect the pressure and return pipes from the steering gear fittings.

Disconnect the steering cardan shaft from the steering gear inside the passenger compartment (pic. 5.29).
Remove the band clamp and push out the steering shaft boot, then remove the boot support plate.
Hang the wheels of the car.
Remove the front wheels.

Remove the cotter pin, unscrew the fastening nut and disconnect the tie rod end ball joint from the steering knuckle using a special tool (09568-31000) (pic. 5.30).

Remove the right stabilizer bar mounting bracket (pic. 5.31).

Remove the front muffler assembly (pic. 5.32).

Remove the steering brackets and the pressure and return tube retainers (pic. 5.33).

Remove the steering gear assembly through the arch of the right front wheel (pic. 5.34).
Note. Remove the steering gear slowly and very carefully so as not to damage the protective covers of the steering rods and ball joints of the tie rod ends.
