Press the V-belt of the power steering pump drive with a force of 98 N at the point indicated in Figure 5.7, and check that the belt deflection corresponds to the nominal value.
Belt deflection (nominal value): 6–9 mm.

If the belt deflection is not within specification, adjust the tension by loosening the belt tension adjusting bolt on the power steering pump (pic. 5.8).
Position the lever opposite the power steering pump and move the pump to adjust the deflection of the belt so that it corresponds to the nominal value.
Tighten the belt tension adjusting bolt on the power steering pump.
Check the belt deflection and repeat the adjustment procedure if necessary.
Attention! The belt deflection should be checked after turning the power steering pump pulley one or more revolutions in the normal direction of rotation.
