Checking the power steering belt tension (Hyundai Sonata Y3)

1. Apply a force of 98 N (10 kgf) to the V-belt and measure the belt deflection.

• Belt deflection value (normal) — 7-10 mm

2. To adjust the belt tension, loosen the tensioner mounting nut and move it (for V6 engine).

3. To adjust the belt tension, loosen the oil pump mounting bolts, move the pump and tighten the bolts (for vehicles with overhead dual camshafts).
