Checking the oil pump pressure (Hyundai Sonata Y3)

1. Disconnect the hose from the oil pump and connect the special device between the pump and the hose.

2. Remove air from the system. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel several times until the operating temperature of the fluid rises to 50°C.

3. Set the crankshaft speed to about 1000 rpm.

4. Completely close and then completely open the shut-off valve of the device and measure the pressure of the working fluid.

Oil pump pressure (normal):
  • With the valve closed in the hose - 7.85 MPa

Warning: Do not keep the shut-off valve under pressure and closed for more than 10 seconds.


5. Remove the tool and tighten the hose.
  • Tightening torque: 16-24 Nm.

6. Bleed the system to remove air.
