Checking the tension of the power steering pump drive belt (Hyundai Getz 1)

1. Check the belt tension by applying a force of 98 N (10 kg) to it at a point equidistant from the pulleys and measure the belt deflection.

Belt deflection: 6-9 mm



2. Using a pry bar inserted between the bracket and the pump, adjust the belt tension so that the belt deflection is within acceptable limits.

3. Tighten the power steering pump drive belt tension adjustment bolt.

4. Check the belt tension and readjust if necessary.

Caution: Turn the engine crankshaft and recheck the belt tension.
