Checking the return of the steering wheel to its original position (Hyundai Getz 1)

0
Check that the steering wheel returns to its original position.

1. The force required to turn the steering wheel and return the wheel to its original position should be the same as that required to make moderate turns and U-turns.

2. When the steering wheel is turned 90° and held in this position for several seconds while the vehicle is moving at 35 km/h, the steering wheel should return to within 70° of the neutral position after release.

Note: If the steering wheel is turned very quickly, the effort required to turn it may be increased at first. This is normal, especially when the engine is idling, since the pump output is somewhat reduced.
