Checking the charging circuit (Hyundai Accent LC)

Execution order



1. Turn on the ignition.

2. After turning on the ignition, with the engine running, the battery charging indicator lamp should light.

3. Disconnect the connector from the generator pre-excitation resistor.

Connect an ohmmeter to pins 1 and 3 of the component side connector. Connect the positive (+) probe of the ohmmeter to pin 3 and the negative (–) probe to pin 1.

Warning! If the ohmmeter is connected incorrectly, it will not show the resistance value


Result



1. If there is continuity shown by the ohmmeter, then the electrical circuit is OK. If there is no continuity, then the electrical circuit is faulty.

2. If continuity is missing only in step 3, check and repair the test lamp circuit. If continuity is missing only in step 2, check the generator pre-excitation resistor.

Warning! If there is no continuity in only one of steps 2 and 3, then the system is working properly, however, for more reliable operation of the system, it is necessary to check the electrical circuit.
