Withdrawal
Warning! When servicing the oil pump, cover the generator with plastic wrap.
1. Disconnect the pressure hose from the pump.
2. Disconnect the suction filter from the suction connector and drain the liquid into a container.
3. Loosen the pump mounting bolts and remove the drive belt.
4. Remove the pump bracket mounting bolts and disconnect the pressure sensor connector.
5. Remove the pump.
Disassembly
1. Remove the suction pipe and O-ring from the pump.
2. Remove the back cover with gasket and pins.
3. Remove the stator ring.
4. Remove the rotor and blades.
5. Remove the front side plate.
6. Remove the inner and outer o-rings.
7. Remove the spring.
Warning! When assembling, a new gasket and O-ring must be used.
8. Loosen the pulley nut and remove the spring washer.
9. Remove the pulley and segment key.
10. Using special pliers, remove the retaining ring.
11. Press out the pulley shaft with the bearing. If necessary, use a nylon hammer.
12. Remove the O-ring from the pump housing.
Warning! When assembling, a new O-ring must be used.
13. Remove the guide bracket and remove the nuts.
14. Disconnect the connector from the pump housing and remove the throttle and spring.
15. Remove the sealing ring from the connector.
Warning! Do not disassemble the throttle.
Examination
1. Clean all pump parts with an appropriate solvent.
2. If there are damaged pump parts, replace the pump assembly.
3. If the pulley is damaged or deformed, replace it.
4. If there are fluid leaks around the o-ring, replace it.
5. If the shaft or pulley splines are damaged or worn, replace the corresponding parts.
Assembly
1. Install a pump switch.
2. Install the throttle spring, valve and connector in the pump housing.
Warning! Lightly coat all replaced parts with DEXRON II ATF, including the oil seal and O-ring.
3. Install the guide bracket and screw in the nuts.
4. Using the special tool 09222-32100, install the oil seal into the pump housing.
5. Gently insert the shaft assembly and install the circlip.
6. Install the pump pulley with slotted key.
7. Install the spring and inner and outer o-rings.
8. Install the front side plate.
9. Insert the pins into the recesses of the front housing, then install the cam ring, paying attention to the installation direction.
10. Install the rotor so that the marks on the rotor are on the side opposite the front of the housing.
11. Install the blades with the rounded parts facing out.
12. Install the gasket and back cover.
13. Tighten the suction connector.
Installation
1. Install the pump to the pump bracket.
2. Install suction filter.
3. Install the V-ribbed belt and adjust its tension.
4. Connect the pressure hose to the pump and the suction filter to the tank.
Warning! Install the hoses so that they are not kinked or come into contact with any other parts.
5. Pour in liquid.
Recommended Fluid: PSF-3
6. Bleed the hydraulic drive of the power steering.
7. Check the pressure generated by the pump.
