Oil condition
1. The oil should not contain moisture, dust, metal particles, etc.
2. Do not mix oils of different types.
3. The moisture content of oil increases if it is left exposed to air for a long time. After using the oil, the container with the oil must be immediately sealed.
Returning oil to the compressor

Check the oil level and by idling the engine for 20-30 minutes with the air conditioning system running at maximum cooling and maximum fan speed, the oil should return to the compressor.
Checking the oil level and adding oil
Before adding oil to the air conditioner compressor, check the compressor oil as follows.
1. Perform the oil return operation to the compressor, then discharge the air conditioning system from refrigerant and remove the compressor from the vehicle.

2. Drain the oil from the compressor outlet pipe.
Caution: If the compressor is cold, it may be difficult to drain the oil. To drain the oil, heat the compressor to a temperature of 40–50°C.
3. Measure the amount of oil that has leaked out. If the amount of oil leaked is less than 70 cm³, then there is a small oil leak. Check the air conditioning system connections for leaks and repair or replace damaged components.

4. Check the oil condition and fill the compressor with oil in the following order.
- a. If the oil is clean.
Volume of drained oil | Filling |
| More than 70 cm³ | The oil level is normal. Add an amount of oil equal to the amount of oil that has leaked out. |
| Less than 70 cm³ | The oil level is low. Add 70 cm³ of oil. |
- b. If the oil is contaminated with metal particles or other materials, clean the receiver dryer before charging refrigerant into the air conditioning system.
