Order of execution
1. Check the condition of the V-ribbed belt and its location on the pulleys.
Warning! If the V-ribbed belt makes unusual noise during operation, check the belt for wear and damage, as well as the running surfaces of the pulleys. Also check belt deflection, which determines belt tension.
2. In the absence of a special device, check the belt tension by pressing on it with a force of 100 N in a place located at the same distance from the pulleys and measure the belt deflection.
Belt deflection:
- new belt: 5–5.5 mm;
- previously used belt: 6–7 mm;
- worked belt: 8 mm.
