2. Remove the hub from the knuckle by rotating the special tool.

Warnings:
- 1) Use only special tool.
- 2) When separating the hub and steering knuckle with a hammer, the bearing will be damaged.
3. Clamp the steering knuckle in a vice.
4. Remove the brake dyke from the hub.
5. Remove the inner ring of the outer bearing from the hub using a special tool.

6. Remove the seal and the inner ring of the inner bearing from the steering knuckle.
7. Remove the outer bearing rings from the steering knuckle using a special tool (09517-21400).

Warning: If either the inner or outer bearing race requires replacement, both must be replaced as a set.
8. Apply multi-purpose grease as specified in the specification; on the outer surface of the outer ring of the bearing.

- Recommended Lubricant - SAE J310A, NLGIN 2 Multi-Purpose Grease
9. Install the outer bearing ring onto the steering knuckle using a special tool.
10. Install the disc on the hub and tighten it to the required torque (50-60 Nm) specified in the specification.
11. Apply multi-purpose grease to the bearings and the inside surface of the hub.
12. Place the outer bearing inner race onto the steering knuckle.
13. Install the cuff from the hub side onto the steering knuckle using a special tool.
14. Apply multi-purpose grease as specified to the seal edges and to the seal surfaces that contact the hub.
- Recommended Lubricant - SAE J310A, NLGI #2 Multi-Purpose Grease

15. Place the inner bearing on the knuckle.
16. Tighten the hub to the steering knuckle to 230 Nm using the special tool.
17. Rotate the hub to seat the bearing in place.

18. Measure the starting torque at which the hub bearing begins to turn.
- Starting torque of hub bearing is 1.3 Nm (13 kgf cm) or less
19. If the starting torque at which the hub bearing begins to turn is 0 Nm, measure the axial play of the hub bearing.

20. If the axial play of the hub bearing exceeds the limit when tightening the hub nut to a torque of 230 Nm, the bearings, hub and steering knuckle are not assembled correctly. Repeat disassembly and assembly.
- Hub bearing axial play (limit) - 0.11 mm or less

21. Remove the special tool.
22. Apply multi-purpose grease as specified to the bearing and inside of the steering knuckle.

- Recommended Lubricant - SAE J310A, NLGI #2 Multi-Purpose Grease
23. Using a special tool, install the seal from the drive shaft side onto the steering knuckle until it begins to touch the outer bearing ring.
24. Apply multi-purpose grease to the edges of the cuff.
25. Tighten the parts to the torque specified in the specification.
Installation
1. Lower the vehicle to the floor and tighten the bolt connecting the steering knuckle to the lower arm ball joint.
2. Tighten the parts to the torque specified in the specification.
