Disassembly
1. Remove the piston retaining ring.
2. Pull out the piston rod assembly.
3. Remove the collar from the tank, the tank cover and the tank.
Note. Do not disassemble the piston.
Examination
1. Check for rust and nicks on the inner surface of the cylinder.
2. Check piston for wear and distortion.
3. Check piston and rod for rust and scuffing.
4. Check hydraulic line for blockage.
5. Measure the internal diameter of the main cylinder with an indicator device and the diameter of the piston with a micrometer.
Note. Measurement of the inner diameter of the main cylinder should be carried out in three sections (bottom, middle and top) in two perpendicular directions.
Assembly
1. Apply DOT3 brake fluid to the inner surface of the cylinder and the outer surface of the piston assembly.
2. Install the piston assembly.
3. Install the rod.
4. Establish a tank on the case of the main cylinder.
